When it Rains it Pours
I met another boy last night. I will refer to him as the "other boy." We will have to see if he stays the "other boy." Or if he stays in the picture at all.So my best friend, Caron, wants me to meet this guy that lives in Newport that she thinks is "my type." We have very different tastes. So we workout last night. I insist on making this drink date for another night. She insists on going anyway, hot and sweaty in our gym clothes. The other boy texts me and said, "he likes hot and sweaty." I said ok, fine, what have i got to loose? I already got "the boy." So we go eat sushi. He immediately impresses me. Down to earth, from the east coast, got a great job, tall, dark hair, kissable face, and older than me. Basically he's got it going on. So i change my frame of mind. I am perplexed. He is a conversationalist at its best. So much to say, so much to learn about him and me, etc. He pours me sake after sake. I am leaning on the drunk side, not tipsy anymore. We come back to my place. The 3 of us sit on the couch and chat for 2 hours. We drink more. We sit close to eachother. The chemistry is undeniable. So i thought. He gets up to leave at midnight. Upon his exit, his goodbye was this: "Caron, call me when you are in town next. See ya." I about dropped my mouth wide open. It was a shock, a buzz kill, left me with all kinds of ?'s running through my head. Maybe he didn't feel it. Ok fine. Well not ok fine. Caron said i had too much to drink, talked his ear off. Uh oh. I blew it. I fucking blew it. Good job Amy. Well hell, it was his fault for pouring me so much sake, staying for more alcohol. Right? We'll see. I am bummed today. But i did get a real cute vm from "the boy." And a super sweet text this morning. Ok back to work.
