Dog Fight

As i walk in the door this morning from the gym, very early, Romeo is of course at the door to greet me. Sasha is half an inch away. I give Romeo loves and kisses and Sasha goes ape shit on Romeo. Literally attacks the shit out of my precious puggle. I must add, she did this last night too. She has attacked him twice before but none of them have compared to this morning. She had him pinned up against the couch. Barking (screaming) at him. Poor little guy was trapped. It happened so fast my instinct took over. I pulled her off of him...the adrenaline rushing...and hit her hard...twice. I said "no" and she just kept going after him. Jessie runs out of her bedroom and yells at me..."did you just hit my dog?" "Ya, i did. She attacked Romeo for no reason and his ear is hurt." (Romeo continues to whine like he is hurt and my dog aint no pussy!) Jessie shouts at me, "never, ever, hit my dog...i will discipline her myself." I was outraged. Think of your child being beaten by some bully kid. What are you gonna do? Save him...of course. And punish the other child. I wouldn't neccessarily hit the other child but kids know the english language...i have strong doubts that dogs do...sometimes. I was not going to just let her attack my angel...for no reason except he got more attention than her. And yes...if my dog behaved in that sort of manner...my friends/roomate have my permission to hit the shit out of him. It is not right. Plain and simple. I am all sorts of riled up about this. #1 b/c Sasha did this. It could possibly be a reoccuring issue. #2 B/c Jessie snapped at me like that about hitting her dog.

So tell me this...internet...was i out of line to hit her dog?
